{"id":3411,"date":"2020-05-11T14:30:55","date_gmt":"2020-05-11T18:30:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cpbao.ca\/?page_id=3411"},"modified":"2025-04-06T11:15:49","modified_gmt":"2025-04-06T15:15:49","slug":"conduite-inappropriee-lors-de-la-livraison-d-autres-services-professionnels","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/cpbao.ca\/fr\/publique\/conduite-inappropriee-lors-de-la-livraison-d-autres-services-professionnels\/","title":{"rendered":"Conduite inappropri\u00e9e lors de la livraison d&rsquo;autres services professionnels"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>To practise psychology in Ontario, an individual must hold a current certificate of registration from the 91ÊÓƵ; the regulatory body for the professions of psychology and applied behaviour analysis.\u00a0 Under the authority of the\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.e-laws.gov.on.ca\/html\/statutes\/english\/elaws_statutes_91r18_e.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991<\/a><\/em>\u00a0and the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ontario.ca\/laws\/statute\/21p27\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Psychology and Applied Behaviour Analysis Act, 2021<\/em><\/a>, the College registers three classes of autonomous practitioners as regulated health professionals in Ontario:\u00a0Psychologists, Psychological Associates and Behaviour Analysts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A psychologist or psychological associate who holds a certificate of registration authorizing autonomous practice may provide services\u00a0without supervision, within his or her area of competence, and may bill for  services for which they are qualified.\u00a0 While most members of the College have no explicit term, condition or limitation on their certificates of registration, some do and must practice in accordance with any such restriction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Once registered, a member of the College is expected to practise in accordance with applicable legislation, regulations, standards of conduct, professional guidelines and professional codes of ethics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Only a member of the College may offer psychological or behaviour analytic services in the province or use the title\u00a0Psychologist,\u00a0Psychological Associate or Behaviour Analyst. In addition, use of the terms\u00a0<em>psychology<\/em>\u00a0or\u00a0<em>psychological<\/em>, or any abbreviations or variations of these terms and titles in describing services, is restricted to members of the College.\u00a0Psychologists and Psychological Associates respectively may also identify themselves with the designation C.Psych. or C.Psych.Assoc. after their names.
